New: The Illinois Virtual High School is now the Illinois Virtual School. The staff at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy is no longer involved in the operation of the program, instead it is operated by the Peoria County Regional Office of Education. The new program staff may be reached at 309-680-5800 or via email at ivs_info@ivs.k12.il.us. Additional information may be found at their temporary web site.

Registration for the Summer 2009 term is now CLOSED. The last day for schools to approve registration requests is Wednesday, June 24. Requests still pending at that time will be denied.

The last day to drop a Summer 2009 course without any charge is Wednesday, June 24 and the last day to drop a course with only a $35 processing fee is Wednesday, July 1.

TRANSITION OF MANAGEMENT OF ILLINOIS VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL: The Peoria County Regional Office of Education (ROE) 48 and its partners (e.g., ROEs from west Central Illinois (Area III), Area III Learning Technology Center, Two Rivers Professional Development Center, and Western Illinois University) were recently awarded the Illinois Virtual School (IVS) contract. The following letter provides important information about this transition.

Summer 2009 registration will be managed through the current IVHS system. Students who already have an IVHS Login ID and want to register for Summer 09 courses only can login to the IVHS system to request a course beginning May 4, 2009. New students should click on the Registration link at the top of the IVHS home page.

New: FALL 2009 REGISTRATION: Fall 2009 IVS registration is not open. Fall courses will be offered through the new IVS system. For questions related to IVS Fall registration or general IVS questions, please email ivs-fall@ivs.k12.il.us.

The last day to drop a course without charge in the Spring 2009 EARLY START term was January 23. Courses dropped after that date but by January 30 are charged a $35 withdrawal fee. All courses dropped after that date are charged the FULL enrollment fee.

The last day to drop a course without charge in the Spring 2009 LATE START term was Feburary 13. Courses dropped after that date but by Feburary 20 are charged a $35 withdrawal fee. All courses dropped after that date are charged the FULL enrollment fee.

The registration fee for the 2008-2009 term is $250 per semester course. See our scholarship policy to see if you qualify for any scholarships. The IVHS Academic Calendar has key dates about each term such as term start and end dates, registration deadlines, and deadlines for dropping courses.
